Ms. Kyritsis joined Keen Independent in 2011 with expertise in higher education, and quality assurance and quality control. She currently serves as the firm’s Senior Project Manager – Senior Consultant including leading management of projects and spearheading new Keen Independent technology-advancing initiatives. Previously, Janine was a compliance consultant and directed data management for numerous institutions of higher education, including community colleges, colleges, universities and technical schools.
Ms. Kyritsis manages the analysis of anecdotal information and a number of report components for Keen Independent disparity studies and other equity studies nationwide. She also develops contract databases and identifies race, ethnicity and gender ownership of utilized firms as part of these studies. She has experience with nearly 50 disparity studies for state and local agencies throughout the country, including studies for the City of Atlanta, cities of New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Alexandria in Louisiana, City of Madison, Wisconsin, and state DOTs in Arizona, Montana, Oregon, Hawaii and Colorado as well as other states.
For the multi-jurisdictional 2017 Minnesota Joint Disparity Study (including the State, MnDOT, the cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul and five other entities), Ms. Kyritsis led in-depth interview and public comment analyses with about 2,500 participants. She has also managed teams of subconsultants, as part of these and other disparity study tasks.
Janine has investigated Title VI and DBE Program complaints filed by DBEs and participated in research on professional development for women in higher education and science curricula in American school districts. She has also interpreted many interviews conducted with university presidents as part of a series of Keen Independent studies on advancing women, women of color and members of the LGBT community in higher education.
Ms. Kyritsis was a Quality Assurance Consultant to the U.S. Department of Education in Washington, DC, served as a university Financial Aid Director overseeing five college campuses, and has experience as a small business owner. Janine also served in a Director role of an international nonprofit.
Ms. Kyritsis is a co-author of a Transportation Research Board research report for the National Academy of Sciences, as well as a related publication for DBE Magazine.
Janine Kyritsis has a Master of Science in Counseling and College Student Development from Long Island University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Sociology from St. John’s University.
