Mr. Bitner joined Keen Independent in 2015. He has expertise in qualitative research and analysis, project support, editing and report review. Mr. Bitner coordinates completion of qualitative tasks across a team of research assistants and other consultants. He also assists in managing subconsultants’ completion of tasks including in-depth interviews and contract data collection. He has prepared data sheets for the quantitative research team for statistical and regression analysis.
For a State of Indiana disparity study, Mr. Bitner managed proofing of report sections and in-depth interview write-ups from audio recordings. As part of this assignment, he coordinated a team of Keen Independent staff members and provided first review of draft and final qualitative research report sections.
Mr. Bitner conducted similar roles for disparity studies Keen Independent led for City of New Orleans, City of Minneapolis, City of St. Paul as well as other government agencies in Oregon and Montana. Since joining the firm, he has also contributed on studies for the states of Arizona, Hawaii, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and the cities of Atlanta, Baton Rouge, Denver, Kansas City and New York.
Previously a Conservatory Apprentice at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Mr. Bitner was responsible for coordination of confidential interdepartmental information, curricula editing and proofing, and transcribing aural information. He led community mentor efforts to outreach to incoming and outgoing students and facilitated conflict mediation efforts.
Mr. Bitner earned a Bachelor of Arts in English/Creative Writing (summa cum laude) from Point Park University. He has studied Mandarin at Dōngběi Dàxué (Northeastern University) in Shenyang, China.
