Dallas College engaged Keen Independent Research to analyze any disparities in Dallas College’s utilization of diverse businesses in its contracts, as well as insights from business owners on ways to improve procurement practices. Texas-based study member Customer Research International (CRI) will survey firms by phone to identify companies available for Dallas College contracts. The study team will examine the conditions in the goods, services, construction and professional services industries.
Study results will help Dallas College assess its current equity efforts and identify any new measures needed to encourage the participation of diverse businesses in its contracts.
Keen Independent Research is a national economic consulting firm. Team members have performed more than 200 similar disparity studies, including for college systems in Nevada, Colorado, Minnesota and Indiana and for local school districts such as Atlanta Public Schools.
The team includes MRR & Associates from Dallas and the law firm Holland & Knight, with offices in Dallas.
The disparity study will be completed in early 2024.
