State of Minnesota and eight local agencies jointly conducting disparity studies

2017 Minnesota Disparity Study

Nine state and local government agencies in Minnesota have come together to analyze whether there is a level playing field for minority- and woman-owned firms in the local marketplace. Participating entities include the State of Minnesota, City of Minneapolis, City of St. Paul, Hennepin County and the local transit and airport authorities. The study launched in June 2016 and will be completed in late 2017. It is one of the largest disparity studies conducted since the 1989 U.S. Supreme Court’s Croson decision that created the need for such studies.
