Mr. Wesley Welch, Keen Independent Research Assistant, joined the Keen Independent team with experience in data retrieval, strategic planning and technical writing. During his time with Keen Independent, he has assisted with data management and interview analyses for disparity studies for the City of Baton Rouge and BREC, City of Minneapolis and Hawaii Department of Transportation. Wesley also assists with report writing and editing and other market research tasks.
Prior to his time at Keen Independent, Mr. Welch was employed by the Southwest Missouri Council of Governments (SMCOG) where he worked on Hazard Mitigation Plans, needs assessments, sidewalk inventories, mapping services and comprehensive plans. Mr. Welch was responsible for the completion of the Ozark Comprehensive Plan where he helped oversee the entirety of the process with a small team of three. Duties required for this plan included data retrieval, analysis, GIS mapping and plan writing. The plan is currently being utilized by the City of Ozark to help direct growth and development for the next 20 years.
Wesley is the recipient of the 2018 APAMO Outstanding Student Project Award for his work on the Billings Visioning Plan where he oversaw a group of 15 as they worked closely with the City of Billings to direct economic growth, development and the feasibility of new community facilities.
Mr. Welch earned his Bachelor of Science in City and Regional Planning from Missouri State University.
