What we do:

Keen Independent Research tackles big issues with keen ideas. For example, how do we …

  • Address discrimination affecting minorities and women in employment, advancement and business contracting?

  • Bridge the gap between individual "intentions" and actual behavior on social issues from water conservation to energy efficient homes to reproductive health?

  • Create good jobs and economic opportunity through entrepreneurship and small business growth?

  • Reboot old membership organizations to meet the needs of new audiences?

  • Effectively train professionals outside of a traditional college setting?

  • Up the odds that a great new idea can be successfully developed and marketed?

  • These are a few of the challenges Keen Independent Research tackles for businesses, not-for-profits, membership organizations and government agencies.

Annette Humm Keen and David Keen, the two Principals of the firm, have worked on these types of issues with diverse organizations since the 1970s. After many years of managing larger firms, they formed Keen Independent Research to provide more focused assistance to selected clients. The common thread among our clients is a desire for independent advice that combines creativity, passion and honesty.

One reason for our long client relationships is that we can help implement what we recommend. We have created new services, launched campaigns and trained operational staff. And then be asked back for a new challenge.

The firm works with small start-ups to large organizations, leading projects from $1,000 to more than $1 million. We have the flexibility to craft a working relationship, budget and performance timeline that fits each client. Our relationships with leading experts help us draw upon additional talent when needed.
Keen Independent Research operates coast to coast from offices in Denver, Colorado and Wickenburg, Arizona.
